Body Positivity and Boudoir

A New Year and a New You?

It’s a new year and I’m going to guess many of you may have set New Year’s resolutions related to weight loss or fitness. Kudos to you for choosing a healthier lifestyle. Living a healthier lifestyle is a good thing. But, don’t forget: you’re ALREADY freakin’ awesome and placing conditions on yourself and/or unrealistic expectations can be harmful to your wellbeing!

So, let’s chat body positivity!

So many women tell me they’re not ready for a boudoir session because they don’t like the way they look. They want to lose weight or get fit before they book a session. And we’ll say (and so will our past clients!) that it’s not about losing those 10 lbs, or dropping a pant size. Boudoir is about loving and accepting yourself as you are without conditions. Besides, we can do more with lighting and posing to show you how awesome you are, than six months at the gym can! 😍

Our Body Positive Boudoir Studio

What does a body positive studio mean, anyway? It means we accept, appreciate and respect your body. And it means we support you in your journey of loving & accepting and appreciating your body, too. Being body positive sounds great, right? Read on to learn more about what it is and how you move towards it.

Body Image

Body image is the perception of one’s physical self, and the thoughts and feelings that ensue as a result of that perception. It’s about how you see & feel about your body. It has to do with what  you think about your body and how you behave as a result.

Changing Body Image

Your body image has, and likely will, continue to change over the course of your lifetime. Growing a positive body image is a process that takes time, and it’s not always easy. It’s like planting a garden; you start with seeds that you water and then nurture as they take root. You spend time enjoying the incremental changes you see. But you’re not hung up on what those plants will look like and if they’re going to flower in their first year. You understand it takes time. Growing a positive body image is like growing that flower garden. It requires patience and commitment. As your body positivity grows, you’ll begin to accept that despite your insecurities, your body is still perfect the way it is and you don’t need to place conditions on yourself to change your body.

You don’t need to change your body. The very best thing you can do is change your perception of your body!

Body Image and Boudoir

Friends, meet boudoir.

Do you need to change your body to be worthy of a boudoir session? Nope. You don’t. I assure you you do not! You already have the perfect body for boudoir. You may just need to change the way you perceive yourself.

With our posing, coaching and lighting expertise, we’ll show you how amazing you look right now, without you changing a thing!

Boudoir isn’t a reward you get when you’ve reached a goal or met a condition you put on yourself. Your self worth isn’t defined by the size of your pants or how you reach conditions. Whether it’s the vision of the garden, a seed you’ve planted, or the first green bud in spring, Boudoir is one very positive step to take in your journey of loving yourself, without conditions.

You are amazing and worthy right this very instant. Others see it in you…make 2021 the year you begin to see it more in yourself.
