It’s hard to imagine what happens during a boudoir photos session and how it will make you feel. So here’s a little overview for you, so you have a better idea of what to expect.
Before Your Boudoir Session
Knowledge is power, so that’s why we’ll send you tons of pre-session information so you can feel as prepared as possible. Right after you book, you’ll receive our boudoir prep guide which goes over all things boudoir such as what to wear (& what not to wear), how to prep your skin, hair & nails, tanning, waxing or shaving, and so much more!
After you’ve had a chance to go shopping, we’ll arrange an outfit consult with you. We’ve found that really helps alleviate ‘lingerie anxiety’ (which is a real thing, by the way!). It helps us know what you’re bringing so we can find the best sets to match your outfit and think about the things in our client closet that might complement your outfits. Did I mention we have black heels from size 6-11 you’re also welcome to borrow?
We even have a questionnaire for you to complete so Meg knows the vibe you’re going for in your session, any concerns you have, the sets you like, parts of your body you’d like to highlight and parts you feel less confident about. She’s a boss at planning poses for you to really give you a ton of confidence!
The Day of Your Boudoir Session
Most people’s jaws drop when they walk into the studio, because it’s truly unique and something unlike anything else!
It’s a 2nd house Meg bought back in 2017, and the whole house is a boudoir studio. Each room, wall, corner, and nook & cranny is a boudoir set, so there are plenty of choices for every taste!
After a quick tour, you’ll meet with our amazing hair and makeup artist. She’ll work with you on the kind of look you’re going for, whether natural boho, Hollywood Glam or full-on dark and smokey eye.
Next is photo time! Meg will pose you every step of the way so you never have to worry about how to pose. She’ll pose you right down from your fingertips to your toes to the angle of your nose. She’ll even coach your expression!
You get to choose if you want to do the 1 or 2 hour photo session. But most people go for 2 hours because it gives them access to the most popular set – the shower set, the chance to shoot outside (weather dependent), plus wear more outfits, shoot in more sets, and not feel rushed if they’re feeling nervous.
After Meg’s finished the photo part of your session, you get a break while she gets your photos ready to show you about an hour after the photoshoot is over. It’s amazing to see yourself on the same day and not have to worry about whether or not you look smokin’! Most people can hardly believe it’s them when they walk in to their image reveal and ordering appointment about an hour later and see themselves on the big screen!
With Meg’s guidance, you’ll create your favourites folder and then choose your products, album size and cover options, digital options, prints and other choices and place your order.
Then all you have to do is be patient for a few weeks (which is REALLY hard when you know how amazing you look!) until your order is ready!
